Christmas Concert

La Rivelaine Foundation & Saint Michael’s Fellowship are delighted to invite you to their Winter Solstice Concert, dedicated to the theme of fire.

On the occasion of this concert, Insensum will present its new scented creations: liquid soaps and hand lotions, which will be available for purchase.

The afternoon will continue with a drinks reception, accompanied by a few Christmas carols performed by members of Saint Michael’s Fellowship.

The Abbey beer of the nuns of La Paix-Notre-Dame Abbey (Liège), two years after its launch, will be featured and available for purchase.

The afternoon will conclude with the celebration of Vespers at 6:00 pm.

It embodies radical opposites within itself.

It drives away darkness, bringing light and warmth.

Fire burns, consumes, destroys and annihilates.

On a symbolic level, fire evokes passion and extreme emotion, but also purification and transformation.

On a spiritual level, fire is a symbol of inspiration, of an inner process of maturation, wisdom and illumination.

In many religious traditions, fire symbolises the divine presence.

In the Old Testament, for example, God speaks to Moses from the burning bush and guides the people of Israel through the desert in the form of a pillar of fire.

In the New Testament, the Holy Spirit appears as tongues of fire, filling the disciples and apostles after Christ’s Ascension and enabling them to go out into the world.

Music offers direct access to fire. The intensity of an instrumental or vocal work, a rapid tempo and strong dynamics can express the different qualities of fire.
